Effective tips to stay on the desired side of health charts

The different components of our body work in unison to help us perform our daily activities without any hindrance. A slight malfunctioning in any of these components can affect our ability to function. For instance, a sudden spike in the blood sugar levels can cause blurred vision, sudden weight loss, or incessant headaches. Our body gives out signals whenever there’s something interfering with its normal functioning, and undergoing regular check-ups are the best way to measure one’s fitness level and put all doubts to rest.

Effective Tips To Stay On The Desired Side Of Health Charts

A routine health check-up will reveal the discrepancies in the body. Once the individual goes through the results, they can refer to health charts in order to plan their health regime accordingly. They can also consult doctors and devise methods to bring their health parameters to the accepted level as mentioned on the health charts. Some of the common health issues faced by people include a sudden increase in the heart rate or a low WBC count. Here’s what can be done in case of some common health-related issues.

Elevated heart rate
According to the heart rate chart, the normal heart rate for anyone over 10 years has to be between 60 and 100 beats per minute. However, if an individual has an elevated (resting) heart rate as per the health chart, they should start taking measures to maintain a healthy heart rate. This includes exercising more, especially taking a brisk walk or going for a swim. Other than that, one needs to deal with stress as well. Avoiding tobacco products and losing weight if they are overweight can bring the heart rate to the desired level.

Increased PSA levels
Elevated prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels are quite common among men these days. According to the PSA level chart, PSA levels that exceed 10 to 20 ng/mL can increase the individual’s chances of developing prostate cancer. To lower one’s PSA levels, one needs to add more fruits, vegetables, and nuts to their diet, exercise regularly, lose weight in case they are overweight, avoid foods that can harm the prostate, and reduce the intake of animal proteins.

Low white blood cells
Having a low white blood cells (WBC) count is quite common and it can leave an individual vulnerable to infections and diseases. According to the WBC range chart, an adult should have a WBC count between 4,500 to 11,000 WBCs per microliter of blood. So, someone’s WBC count is lower than the number mentioned on the health chart, they need to make certain changes in their diet. They should try to include food items like garlic, spinach, yogurt, vitamin supplements, papaya leaves, broccoli, kiwi, and citrus fruits in their diet as these food items have the ability to boost neutrophil levels as well; neutrophils constitute a major portion of WBCs that strengthen the immune system. Adhering to this diet can help one increase their WBC count.

Increase in LDL cholesterol
Our body harbors two types of cholesterol, one good and one bad. When the bad cholesterol, that is, low-density lipoprotein (LDL) levels override the good cholesterol, which is the high-density lipoprotein, it can make the person susceptible to heart diseases. According to the cholesterol LDL/HDL chart, one has high cholesterol levels if the total cholesterol level is 240 mg/dL or higher. If one suffers from high cholesterol, they need to undertake certain lifestyle and dietary changes that include exercising regularly, eliminating trans fat from their diet, adding foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, and consuming soluble fiber.
